A Zedless Homecoming
Zo went to Baachan and Grandad's today so that her Mom and Dad could meet up with her Uncle Ian and Meredith in Ann Arbor for the Iowa game. It was Homecoming...it was a beautiful day...and it was another Big Ten home loss. I've never enjoyed being bummed out as much as I did today.
We miss Ian, and we can't get enough of Meredith, so it's an almost brainless effort to enjoy them for a dozen hours or so. We acted like sophomores, laughing at baton twirlers and making fun of male cheerleaders etc...it's easy when you're partners in crime are as juvenile as you are.
I wish we could hang out with those funny bastards all the time. Too bad Meredith lives in Chicago, and Ian lives on friggin' Baffin Island.
Holy #$%&...look a bunny! Sorry, inside joke.

Wow, let me guess, Section 16 or 17 or so? Right near friends of yours that sit in Sec. 19 ..........
Sec. 19!! We totally thought about calling you guys on our way down but we got to the stadium just in time for the game. Afterward, both Ian and Meredith left immediately afterward to drive back to Chicago, and we had to pick up Zoey. We both acknowledged feeling kinda guilty that we didn't call you anyway. It would have been a drive-by "hello" on the concourse or something. Apologies, next time we'll get in touch regardless.
I ended up shutting my phone off anyway 'cause it was going off like a pinball machine with this new Heart On My Sleeve project going...I mean pinball. So with no plan for the US I just shut it off to avoid going broke from calls and texts..didn't turn it back on until we crossed the bridge back into Canada.
Anyway...no excuses, any of it, but we did think of you guys but just slipped in and out of Ann Arbor without a whisper.
Wow! Lucky wish I could of went, but Kalahari was alot fun! Avery
